Memorial to Lost Citizens and Thank You to First Responders
On October 1st 2015 dispatch got calls of an active shooter on the campus of Umpqua Community College in Roseburg Oregon. With an entire state in shock, everyone was trying to figure out why such a horrendous act occurred. The numbers of victims constantly changed, however number does not make a crime like this any less of a horrific tragedy. Out of the many whom were wounded, 9 students unfortunately have been released as deceased.
We wish to honor those 9 students along with all other victims such as the wounded, the police who had to run into this situation head on without knowing what to expect, the professors who did the best the could to protect their students, the firemen who carried students out of the school, and the dispatchers who had to relay this information in a calm matter because it is THEM who deserve the publicity.
It is these people who deserve the air time. It is these people who need 100% of Oregonians support. This is a tragedy that Oregon will never forget.
We will always remember these names and faces.
First Year of College
Jason Johnson, 33, had also just started his first year of college. He may have started late, but he was going to make a change for himself out of determination. Jason had just completed 6 months of rehab in Portland and was extremely proud of himself for turning his life around. He had kissed his mom goodbye before going to school and said he loved her. She said she felt so proud as he walked out the front door. He overcame addiction and did what is impossible for most others. God bless, heaven has received a strong angel.
Lucero Alcaraz, 19, was just entering into her first year of college. She wanted to either go into Nursing or Pediatrics, she was unsure but had a passion for the medical field. She was a great artist and loved drawing. She was one of six siblings and her family agrees that she was the most responsible one out of them all. God bless, heaven has received a beautiful angel.
ChemistryLucas Eibel, 18 (shown on far right), had just graduated high school three months before he started college. He actively volunteered at the humane society and at wildlife safari. He was the recipient of multiple scholarships and loved the play soccer. He was very smart and received very high academic marks in his classes. God bless, heaven has received a very very smart angel.
